Mission:
The mission of the Engineering Division is to provide the town with physical assets such as water, sewers and drainage, roads, transit, and project design, as well we provide assistance and advice. The Engineering Division staff will make a continuous effort to ensure that Town operations maintain these physical assets, replace those in need of replacement, and make new investments to support the community's quality of life and prosperity.
Responsibilities:
- Project management and design
- Site inspection services and surveys
- Environmental Assessment
- Road Needs Studies
- Graphic services (engineering records management, maps, databases, etc.)
- Parking policy on public roads/ parking lots
- Crossing Guards
- Traffic safety
- Streetlight system
- Public Transit
Construction/Programs
Every year the Town solicits bids through quotations or tenders for town-wide annual projects. All projects are awarded annually, some with the option to renew for a second year.

- Sidewalk Replacement Program
- Road Resurfacing-Surface Treatment Program
- Road Resurfacing-Hot Mix Program
- Pavement Marking (Hand and Truck)
- Asphalt Patching
Capital Construction Program
 This year’s budget for Infrastructure Services Capital Projects is approximately $7.1 million and has been approved by Council during the 2013 budget process. Projects have been prioritized in accordance with our Master Plans as well as customer driven. Our 2013 capital construction consists of design and construction of roads, sanitary and storm sewers, water mains, and associated infrastructures throughout the Town of Fort Erie.
